“If you are willing to accept what is true in everything you perceive, you let it be true for you.” ~ ACIM T3.II.6:3
Have you been told that, as a woman, you have to be married and bear children before you reach 30? Has everyone around you talked about retirement as if everyone after 60 will need the same financial investment and will experience the same fate? Finally, having accepted that to be true, you frantically grasp for a partner to get married because time is ticking? And you will prepare for the ‘better life’ you perceive to be true after 60.
Think about it, when everyone you meet tells you that the economy is down and you choose to accept that it is true, wouldn’t you do everything to make it true for you? Would you start to hoard your money? Would you cut corners to minimize costs? Would you be so paranoid that you start counting your balance instead of counting your blessings?
You make only RM3,000 and you keep getting remarks from your friends accusing you of working too hard, spoiling the market. They said that since you are only paid this much, don’t do extra work. Finish your work according to your scope of duties and don’t try to be smart to suggest too many ideas. That will increase your work load. Keep quiet, do your work, if there is a better opportunity for better pay, you move, quick.

This is just having the attitude of ‘taking’. You treat your work-life as if everything is there for the taking. No way would you want to share more, give more, find ways to add value in everything you do. Is this due to your perception that there is not enough in the world? You need to take whatever that comes. Grasp at life . There is scarcity. If you don’t get it now it will be too late.
As a salesman, that would be the answer to why your clients keep wanting more from you. More discount, squeezing you for more perks, trying every bit to get more out of you, as if sucking you dry. The law of attraction shows you, when you are ‘taking’, someone will be ‘taking’ from you too.
Change this perception. Change to see that there is abundance in the world. Give more. Give added values. Always find ways to see how you could add values to your work, your boss and in other people’s lives. If you are paid RM3,000, what would you lose by giving a RM30,000 service everyday? You are where you are to make someone happy because you are happy. You will make this happiness of making someone happy today be true for you.
Let’s look at your perception of the economic downturn again. Look at how much you will gain from what you perceived have lost. You have less clients, you have more time. More time to spend with your kids and family. More time to pursue a hobby you have put it at the back of your mind. More time to stop and smell the roses. You have less to spend, but more to mend a tired spirit. Feel refreshed with less. Learn to appreciate all the abundance you have in life and enjoy them. Now you are rested and ready for more. You will see that every cloud has indeed a silver lining, which has always been there, but eluded due to your anxiety. Look over the rainbow, there shines the pot of gold … and let this be true for you!
